The beautiful gated community called Hidden Harbor Yacht Club and Residences is located along the Georgia Coast, just four miles north of Brunswick, Georgia. Protected from storms by the Golden Isles islands of Jekyll and St. Simons, Hidden Harbor Yacht Club townhouses are designed for coastal living at its best.

The environment conscientious homeowner will appreciate the superb construction of these beautiful homes. Recognized by the National Home Builders Association (NHBA) Green Building Program, they are built for energy saving. Constructed of non-wood exterior siding and recycled materials for exterior decks and balconies they offer the best in “green” construction. They have ESP certified custom cabinetry and Energy Star appliances. Durable and beautiful granite counter tops in the kitchen and baths, stainless appliances and Kohler faucets and fixtures are just a few of the excellent features of these homes.

When you’re not lounging at the heated pool or enjoying the dockside clubhouse, you can make the four mile drive into historic Brunswick. This town, laid out like Oglethorpe’s Savannah Plan, was established in 1771. It was one of five original ports of entry for the Colonies, as proclaimed by George Washington in 1789. Excellent restaurants, quaint shops, beautiful parks and Southern Hospitality will make you feel right at home.

Throughout the year there are cultural and historic festivals, performances and community events. With Savannah an hour north and Jacksonville, FL an hour south, and the sea islands even closer, you can enjoy delightful day excursions. You will see shrimp boats, cruise and casino ships as well as vessels from around the world. If you have your own yacht, you’ll want to be a member of the yacht club at Hidden Harbor, which is one of the options you have at Hidden Harbor. This is definitely the perfect home for the sailing or boating enthusiast.

For those looking for a retirement home that is not only beautiful and energy efficient and “green” built, but located at one of the most scenic and historic areas on the eastern seaboard, will find Hidden Harbor Yacht Club and Residences will fit all their needs. The middle-class pricing of around $495,000 is especially appealing for a townhome that offers a first floor two car garage, second floor living/dining room, kitchen, and bedroom or study and balcony, third floor master bedroom, walk-in closet, master bath and guest room and bath and a balcony where you can see the sun rise or set over the Sea Islands. A home at Hidden Harbor Yacht Club and Residences is like waking up on vacation everyday. [Visit website]

It is simply no accident that the Reserve at Savannah Harbor is situated close to one of the best and first cities of Savannah, Georgia. Because of its mild climate, awesome city skyline, shopping opportunity, and naturally beautiful settings all around, it’s no wonder that many are making the decision to live within this historic locality.

At Lake Blackshear Plantation you can play where you live. You can realize the dreams of your individual lifestyle. There are plenty of things to do here. This includes a championship eighteen hole golf course, pool, fitness center, 8700 acre Lake Blackshear and neighboring plantations.

The Lake Blackshear Plantation is quickly becoming the most anticipated development in Georgia. The lots on the golf course start out around fifty thousand dollars and offer a great view of the hills and the water. The house plans offer unique floor plans, welcoming outsides and lots of architectural details.

The neighborhood is only about eleven miles from I-75, so travel is easy.

Lake Blackshear offers your back yard to also be your back nine. They offer 70 home sites that ensure you great views of well maintained bunkers, greens, water and of course, the open fairway.

Lake Blackshear Plantation is surrounded by creeks, cotton fields, pecan orchards, hunting plantations, the Lake Blackshear, and historical sites. The plantation has something to do for people of all ages, and offers things to do year round to take advantage of the beauty and the climate.

Amenities include the Ironwood golf club, pool, Fitness center, Horseback riding, Hiking trails and a perfect grill where you can sit and enjoy a nice meal.

The Lake Blackshear Plantation is really close to I-75, and right on the outskirts of a town called Cordele. This is a hometown community that is in the heart of south central GA. This town is within a three hour radius of Savannah, Atlanta, and Florida.

Everything you need to do in the big city can be accomplished, but the town is far enough away so that the southern charm is preserved.

Reynolds Landing first opened in 1986 under the name “Port Armor” and boasted the first championship golf course on Lake Oconee, designed by Bob Cupp. The community set the standard high for future developments, and the lake area soon became a premier destination for families.

A Linger Longer Community since 2005, Linger Longer Development has invested significantly to upgrade the golf course, the roads, and the amenities, with a pool, tennis and recreational facility that opened in 2007.

With a brand-new clubhouse and amenity center, there is always an opportunity to make new memories, create new traditions and gather with loved ones. An active social calendar guarantees plenty of ways to meet new friends—and with the Linger Longer Living Cultural Lifestyle Experiences series and the Oconee Performing Arts Society, a full year’s worth of incredible music, dance, concerts, exhibitions, lectures and other events make every day at Reynolds Landing memorable.

Reynolds Landing is also an ideal place for families because it is only a comfortable hour’s drive from the excitement of Atlanta or the traditions of Augusta. Local towns offer antique shopping, dining and a wealth of cultural and historical sites. In fact, nearby Madison was recently named the “No. 1 Small Town in America.” The shops of Lake Oconee Village, a master-planned commercial and retail center, opened in fall 2002, making a wealth of restaurants, boutiques, medical clinics, banks, pharmacies and an upscale Publix Super Market only five minutes from the gates.

The new clubhouse and amenity center is rapidly becoming the focal point of the fun and active Reynolds Landing lifestyle. At the clubhouse, players can prep for play at the golf shop or celebrate a successful round in the full-service restaurant and lounge. Outside, a beach-entry family pool offers a waterslide, hot tub and kid’s splash pad. A tennis court with four traditional hard surfaces, championship lighting and spectator seating offers exhilarating outdoor sport, while kids can enjoy the fresh air on the new adventure playground featuring swings, slides, rocking toys and a colorful climbing apparatus. Active families will take pleasure in picnics at the lakeside community park, a game of touch football at the athletic field, or gathering with neighbors for concerts and other special happenings on the event lawns behind the clubhouse. Much more than just a collection of amenities, this area has been designed as the perfect setting for you to refresh your spirit, reconnect with your loved ones and build the kind of memories that will last a lifetime.

Combining the best of golf and lakeside living, Reynolds Landing is a beautiful location for an exceptional primary residence or second home lakeside retreat.

Centered around the award-winning Bob Cupp Golf Course and The Village at Reynolds Landing—a neighborhood that features the Reynolds Landing Cottage Collection by Southern Living—the Reynolds Landing community offers an unparalleled lifestyle for families of all ages.

The community is anchored by a new clubhouse and amenity center that makes possible a world of family fun. Here you’ll enjoy a truly inclusive community that provides every element of a friendly, active, lakeside lifestyle within minutes of your doorstep.

Homesites are available from the $70k’s and homes are priced up to the $600k’s.

When you get right down to it, golf isn’t about long drives and forced carries. It has nothing to do with birdies, eagles or bogeys. In fact, it really doesn’t matter whether you win or lose. It’s where you play the game.

A design masterpiece of Bob Cupp, Reynolds Landing was the first golf course built on popular Lake Oconee, setting the stage for a prime golf destination. Called one of Georgia’s best golf courses at its debut, second only to Augusta National, it features a variety of holes that wind through naturally wooded areas and rolling hills, making the course enjoyable for all levels of golfers. Three holes wrap dramatically along the shoreline of the lake and the green settings and shot values make this one of the premium tests of golf on Lake Oconee.

Reynolds Plantation recently announced that Reynolds Landing has merged with the award-winning golf and lake community on Lake Oconee in Georgia. The merging of the two clubs and their amenities will provide more lifestyle opportunities for members of Reynolds. [Visit website]

Reynolds Plantation is located just an hour’s drive from Atlanta and Augusta. Developed by Linger Longer (see also: Reynolds Landing and Achasta), the Reynolds Plantation community has a whole line-up of world-class amenities awaiting its residents. There are several self-organized member clubs as well as an extensive events program that includes exhibitions, performances, lectures, author meet-and-greets, dinners and instructional events.

There are homes available for purchase, or you may choose from one of the 17 preferred builders. A quick check of available properties at the time of this writing showed lots starting in the $100k’s and homes sarting in the high $200k’s but ranging all the way up to several (like 5) million depending, of course, on the home’s size, amenities, and location (ie: lakefront or golf course will be more).

There is also a leasing program available if you need a place to live while your house is being built OR if you’re like me and want to be ultra-sure about a place before you purchase.

The Lake Club is known as the center of social activity at Reynolds Plantation. The members-only club has an indoor/outdoor pool, tennis, fitness and more, along with a great location overlooking Lake Oconee (the second largest lake in Georgia). There are five golf courses (including a Taylor Made performance lab), the Linger Longer Park, three marinas, four clubhouses, seven world-class restaurants, 12 tennis courts, and miles of walking trails available to make this a perfect place for a second home or your eventual primary retirement community residence.

Outside of the community, lifestyle opportunities and conveniences are not very far away. At Lake Oconee Village, an upscale Publix grocery store complements a variety of restaurants, shops, clinics, banks, pharmacies, salons, boutiques, gift and antique shops and services like attorneys, dentists, financial planners and more. Historic small towns like Greensboro, Madison and Washington are also nearby.

If the word “houseguests” sends shivers up your spine, I’m sure they won’t mind if you put them up in The Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation. The Lodge has 251 luxury guest rooms, plus a 26,000-square-foot spa. [Visit website]

Achasta strikes the perfect balance for families of all ages, with a range of world-class amenities that make the community come alive. Championship golf is at the center of this Linger Longer Community, thanks to the par-72, 6,995-yard Achasta Golf Course (a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design).

A walking layout characterized by the Chestatee River, whose waters come into play on more than half of the holes, the course spills out from the casual Achasta Golf Club. There, members enjoy comfortable cuisine in a rustic environment that serves as a meeting place for the community, just steps from the Swim and Tennis Center nearby. Miles of walking trails wind through the densely wooded landscape, perfect for family nature hikes or leisurely sunset strolls.

Vibrant cultural and entertainment opportunities complement the sporting lifestyle with concerts, excursions, events and performances. Achasta is only minutes from a unique arts and cultural scene in downtown Dahlonega, as well, recently named a “Top Five Offbeat Town” by OffBeatTravel.com for its eclectic arts scene, historic treasures, 12 annual festivals, dining and shopping.

Soon to become the social hub of the community is the planned Mountain View Club. This world-class facility will offer indoor and outdoor pools with waterslide and whirlpool spa, a casual bistro, lounge, meeting space and fitness center.

Achasta is a residential golf community located in historic Dahlonega, Ga. Brought to you by Linger Longer Communities, the creator of Reynolds Plantation and Reynolds Landing—award-winning communities on Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga. Achasta brings the majesty of the North Georgia mountains home, with beautiful natural scenery, miles of walking trails, and amenities that embrace upscale living with a rustic, natural charm.

“Achasta” is derived from the Tsalagi (Cherokee) word for light. Exemplifying Linger Longer Communities’ commitment to preserving the heritage of the land and the people who once inhabited it, Achasta is a tribute to the Cherokee people and the Chestatee River. Known as the “River of Running Lights,” the Chestatee flows through the community, illustrating the light of new beginnings while leaving a legacy of its own throughout the beautiful mountain topography.

Near the start of the legendary Appalachian Trail, Achasta offers families a breathtaking setting offset with the rich traditions of historic Dahlonega. As the site of the first-ever American Gold Rush, Dahlonega is full of outdoor activities for all ages. Members can play 18 holes on the 6,995-yard, par-72 Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, go kayaking, tubing or fishing along the Chestatee River or stroll along historic Dahlonega’s charming streets—host to the many and varied festivals that are part of Dahlonega’s legacy.

The North Georgia Mountains are home to much more than mountain residents. Morning mist embraces mountain peaks; panoramic views of the sunrise swell over the distant horizon, birds chirp their melodious song to welcome the coming day. These mountains esteem the heritage of the people who once inhabited its land. Achasta celebrates all the mountains have to offer and you can too. Achasta offers members and visitors the opportunity to walk the more then 3 miles of winding scenic trials that meander all around Achasta’s 1058 acres. The majestic Chestatee River continues to attract our residents to its rocky banks for a leisurely afternoon of trout fishing, floating on a relaxing inner tube or a kayak ride in the cool mountain water.

Not far from the main entrance you can enjoy mountain biking, gold panning, rock climbing and horse back riding. The Dahlonega area offers access to all these activities and more through local guides and North Georgia State College and University.

The gem of Achasta’s friendly and active community is Achasta Golf Course, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, is 6,995-yards, par-72. The Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course is ideal for walking, nestled in the Chestatee river valley close to 25% of golfers choose to walk instead of renting a cart. Golfers enjoy a challenging yet playable masterpiece, with lush fairways and bent grass greens that roll gently past beautiful views of the Chestatee River and the surrounding mountains. The river plays a major role on approximately over half of the holes, with a unique, river island fifth-hole.

Home of the PGA Tour’s 2007-2008 AT&T Classic Qualifier, 2002-2006 Bell South Classic Open Qualifier, 2002 Georgia State Amateur Qualifier, 2003 US Open Qualifier and the 2004 Georgia State Mid-Am Qualifier.

Lots start from the 120’s and homes go all the way up to 1.5 million. [Visit website]
